Clinical Documentation of Strangulation Cases
Download Webinar Handouts
Presented by: Dr. William Smock & Kim Nash, BSN, RN. Strangulation has been identified as one of the most lethal forms of domestic violence. With updated research, thorough trainings and state of the art tools to assist with the documentation of strangulation cases, most states have enacted harsher laws to reflect the severity of the crime. Forensic evidence, photo documentation, illumacams and life-like doll heads have enabled nurses, doctors and forensic experts to see and document the signs and symptoms of strangulation in a way like never before. With proper training and education, we can all improve our documentation, investigation, and prosecution of strangulation cases with immediate results. Dr. Bill Smock and Kim Nash will bring their unique experiences and promising practice. The webinar will be hosted by Gael Strack and Casey Gwinn, CEO and President of the Training Institute on Strangulation Prevention, a project of Alliance for Hope International.
